The Language School department offers the following programs:
The language school focuses on the interventional education programs, language-educational programs, support services for remedial education, and social advocacy programs for deaf children with hearing aids and cochlear implants.
a. Academic Programs
Academic programs are fully developed plans that serve specific needs of our populations in Lahore and cities of Pakistan being based and served at Lahore Speech and Language School. Mainstream Education Program is for full time mornings only and Remedial Education Program is for evenings only.
1. Mainstream Education Programs: There are five academic programs under this category:- Infant Program: The newly born infants with hearing loss are enrolled for total language immersion with their parents and LSLS team.
- Playgroup Program (2-4 year olds): A two year long program where the students attend five days a week.
- PreSchool Program (4-6years old): Students attend five full days a week.
- Kindergarten (6-8 years old): Students attend five full days a week.
- Grade I-V: Students attend five days a week with 2 afternoons set aside for extracurricular activities, Talk and Debate Club.
It is an evening program for provision of support services that promote full empowerment of children, adolescents and adults who are attending mainstream schools in their residency districts. At LSLS, they receive full education support to keep them update with their subjects, knowledge and the tools of communication to interact with the workings of the real world and hearing people.
*Speech therapy is also offered in this program. The classes meet 3 evenings a week.
- Remedial PreSchool and Kindergarten (4-10 years old): A two year long program.
- Remedial Language Level 1/2/3/4: Four years Program
It is a two years program for teenage students to undergo a specialized curriculum that brings their language up to their age level as best as possible.
Language Level 3/4 Program.It is a two years program for adult students to undergo an intensive curriculum that would help them become independent learners on their own right and make choices for their transition programs.
